Would you like to take on a stimulating, high-impact challenge? We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Advisor, Finance to join our Corporate Accounting team. Please note that the candidate may be based in one of our 4 offices: Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto or Quebec City.
The role
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Accounting, you will play a key part in managing financial processes, supporting audits, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, government entities, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver accurate financial reporting and valuable insights that drive decision-making.
The responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements and design working papers (Monthly, Quarterly, Annual).
- Provide support for internal and external audit processes.
- Manage the full accounting cycle, including monthly, quarterly, and annual processes.
- Assess and design internal controls, identify process improvements, and implement best practices.
- Conduct research and analysis of accounting standards to create and update policies.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and advisory tasks as needed.
- Prepare and deliver reports to Crown and government stakeholders.
The requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in similar roles.
- CPA credentials (or Nearing completion of the CPA program) or equivalent.
- Proven ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders and create networks to facilitate information flow.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage shifting priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Team-oriented with a track record of active collaboration on multidisciplinary projects.
- Comfortable operating in unstructured environments while maintaining focus and delivering results.
